Have you ever written a page layout, then gone to “Metadata” in order to crop it, remove the watermarks, or change the background, or adjust the margins? Then you have probably gone “head first” into Metadata jam. metadata is the read-only portion of a page layout, it is where you put the metadata about the page. For example, in a blog, you might have a title, description, and URLs for the posts. The URL will help you to remember the content. You can add metadata for a page by simply placing it in the appropriate spot on the Meta Page. However, if you have a large site, then you might have to upload all of your pages, Meta pictures, and watermarks individually onto the page. In that instance, you will need the Page and Image modules configured as you need.

One of the reasons so many people use WYSIWYG is to change the appearance of a page. You can add a little theme to a page by changing the background and colors of the header. Additionally, in many cases, you can remove content from a page. You can also individually define how much of a cover you want.

The IE example page has some settings already available to us. We can add a little theme to this example page by using the “htm” environment variable in the while True block. Save the file as “anotherpage.html”. Now we’re going to add the title and description. As with any HTML document, you’ll add the title tag before the content, separated by a period (“.”). If we want the description to appear below the title, we will add it as a link before the title, separated by periods (“.”). Now, to add the watermarks, we’ll add the flag icon as a link before the description.

How you instance a link depends on whether the OS is “Internet Explorer” or “Firefox”. For example, if you have “Firefox 1.5” installed, you could duplicate the title and description for the Watermarking link. If you have “Internet Explorer” installed, you’ll need to copy the Watermarking text, then paste it into the Firefox page, and then select “option”. It should appear in the ” provoke pop-up menu” for Internet Explorer. If it does not, it is most likely due to Yahoo and Google not being compatible with older versions of Firefox.

We can add an image to the watermarking as well. It will appear above the word “Watermark” in the title and description and is configured to appear on hover. To do this, we will need to save the watermark as an image file, then upload it. When you load up the watermarked page, you will notice that the watermark will be applied.

The Yahoo ID and Google ID watermarks are two of the methods you can use to add metadata to your web pages. The Google ID watermark is used to add titles to the metadata for any web page, while the Yahoo ID watermark is used to add website semantic tags. What we need to understand is how to use the watermarking features of Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.

Google Chrome

Fortunately, the watermarking features that are available in Firefox and Chrome should be sufficient if you need to do basic watermarking.

Hence, we will focus on Google Chrome watermarking which is the easiest to understand.

If you need help deciding what module to use, you can rely on the different tabs that exist on the left of the pop-up in the explorer window. These provide links to different sections of the website and go to the setting page of each. You should be able to understand how to use most of these features very easily.

Yahoo Messenger Watermarking

Many websites provide the facility to enable users to detect whether it is a message from Yahoo Messenger or not. This watermarking feature is not enabled by default. So, there is a need to enable it before using it. In case you need to use this feature, you have to enable it for Yahoo Messenger.

To enable it, you have to click on the dropdown arrow icon labeled enable Yahoo Messenger watermarking. Once you have done so, you will see a dropdown menu as Yahoo Messenger. Select enable and then click on the YWMthost link. This will enable Yahoo Messenger watermarking.

The Y WMthost is simply an IP address that is used along with your IP address to identify the location of the Yahoo Messenger server. Therefore, whenever you use Yahoo Messenger, the watermarking will be overlayed over your message so that it will be visible as Yahoo Messenger.
